Q: What is a Hyundai Prepaid MasterCard® Promotional Card?
A: The Hyundai Promotional Card is a Prepaid Card loaded with an initial amount. The Card is accepted everywhere Debit MasterCard is accepted—at millions of locations world wide.
Q: How do I activate my
Card?
A: Visit the website www.HyundaiPromoCard.com or call our automated system at 1-888-867-8032. Have your Card number ready, as well as your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) ready, and be sure to sign the back of your Card immediately after activation.
Q: Where do I find my Vehicle Identification Number ("VIN")?
A: Your VIN is a 17 digit number you can find in 3 different locations in your
vehicle. Look on the lower left corner of the dashboard, the driver’s side door
jam, or your DMV registration card.
Q: How soon can I use my
Card after activation?
A: Your Card can be used two hours after
activation.
Q: Can I get cash with
my Card?
A: No. Your Card cannot be used for cash access at ATMs or Bank Tellers.
Q: Do I need a Personal Identification Number ("PIN") for my Card?
A: At many merchants you may select the type of transaction to be processed as either a Credit Card (no PIN required), or a Debit Card (PIN required).
To opt-in and create a PIN, log into www.hyundaipromocard.com, and select the Create a PIN icon on the Activate Card page.
Q: How do I check my Card
balance and transactions?
A: Simply visit the website www.HyundaiPromoCard.com, or call our automated system at 1-888-867-8032. Customer Service Representatives are available Monday through Friday 7:00AM-4:00PM Pacific Time, except for major holidays.
Q: What if my Card is
lost or stolen?
A: Call a Customer Service Representative immediately at 1-888-867-8032.
Q: What do I do if I
want to make a purchase that is greater than the available balance on my Card?
A: Your Card is only valid for the available balance on the Card. If your transaction amount exceeds the available Card balance, your purchase will be declined.*
*You may request a “split transaction” from the merchant for purchases over the available Card balance. First pay the overage using an alternative form of payment (cash, check, or charge) before having the merchant run your Card for the available balance. Not all merchants accept split transactions.
Q: Is there a fee associated with the Card?
A: No monthly fees will be charged for two years after Card issuance. Thereafter, a $2.95 monthly fee will apply, except where prohibited by law. Please make every effort to use your card before the valid through date so that you get the full benefit of the Card.
Q: Can I make a payment
or transfer funds toward a personal Credit Card using my Hyundai Promotional Card?
A: No. Your Card may be used for purchases only.
Q: Why would my Card be
declined at some restaurants, hotels, or places of service?
A: At the time of payment, some restaurants, hotels, or places of service will authorize your Card more than the purchase amount in order to ensure the anticipated gratuity (tip) or ancillary hotel charges you will be leaving. Because this authorization may be greater than the balance available on your Card, it is possible that your Card could be declined.
Q: Can I use my Card at
gas stations?
A: Yes. Please pay inside with the cashier, however, as your Card cannot be used to "pay-at-the-pump."
Q: What happens when the
funds on the Card are depleted?
A: Once the funds on your Card are depleted, simply destroy your Card.
Q: What happens if my Card expires but I still have funds?
A: We will issue you a new Card with your remaining balance for a $5.00 Replacement Card Fee except where prohibited by law. Simply call Program Headquarters at 1-888-867-8032.
